Bookkeeping & Financial Organization

full cycle

Your records kept in order all year, so tax time is calm instead of a scramble.

Full-cycle bookkeeping, monthly reconciliation and year-end preparation.

Who this is for

Your records are behind, or they exist but you do not trust them. Perhaps a previous bookkeeper left mid-year, or the business grew faster than the spreadsheet did. Before anything can be planned or filed, the underlying numbers have to be right.

What's included

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping: entry, reconciliation, and month-end close
  • Bank, credit card and loan account reconciliation
  • Correction and clean-up of records prepared by someone else
  • Reconstruction of records from source documents where the file is gone
  • Financial statements you can hand to a lender, a buyer, or the CRA

Common situations

  • Your bookkeeper left partway through the year and the file has not been touched since.

  • The bank balance and the accounting file disagree, and nobody knows which is right.

  • You need financial statements for a lender or a landlord, and what you have now would not survive being read closely.

What I'll need from you

  • Access to your accounting file, or a description of how records are kept
  • Bank, credit card and loan statements for the period
  • Sales invoices and purchase receipts
  • Payroll records, if applicable
  • The last set of financial statements you consider reliable

How this works

  1. 01 Tell me what you need A short call or a message. Describe your situation in your own words.
  2. 02 We review your situation together I look at your previous returns, records and any letters from the CRA, then tell you plainly what is involved.
  3. 03 You receive a quote in writing What needs doing, in what order and by when, with the fee set out clearly and agreed before any work begins.
  4. 04 We complete the work Prepared, filed and explained, with me available for the questions that come afterwards.

Questions

  • My records are several years behind. Is that a problem?

It is a common starting point. Reconstruction from source documents is ordinary work — bank statements, invoices and receipts are usually enough to rebuild a year, even when the accounting file is lost.

  • Do I have to change my accounting software?

No. I work in whatever you are already using. Changing systems mid-clean-up adds risk without adding accuracy.

  • Can you work with my existing bookkeeper?

Yes. Many clients keep day-to-day bookkeeping in-house and use me for review, year-end and filing. The arrangement works well when the division of responsibility is written down.
